FIRST RESPONDERS & HEALTH CARE WORKERS:  ACCESS TO CHILDCARE

There are lots of exciting things happening in the field of early education and care at the State level!  Today we want to make you aware of a new initiative that serves to improve access to high quality childcare for Florida's critical essential personnel.

This new childcare assistance program targets first responders and emergency healthcare workers by providing subsidized childcare for their children ages 6 weeks to 13 years regardless of their family income.  First responders are defined as law enforcement of any kind as well as 911 operators, ambulance and fire department staff, and support staff.  Emergency healthcare workers are employed at a hospital and include hospital support staff i.e. hospital janitors and kitchen crew.

For more information, please contact your employer's Human Resource Department.

The effective date of this new statewide intiative is April 1, 2020.

New enrollments for this program will be accepted through July 31, 2020.
